1. Scope
These terms apply to the use of the software Startrails and the extension Startrails Pro by Achim Schaller, Auf dem Buck 30, 79429 Marzell, Germany (info@startrails.de). Startrails Pro is sold through Stripe; the seller is Link, a service of the Stripe group. The purchase itself, payment, invoice, refunds and any right of withdrawal are governed by Link's terms, which are shown during the purchase.

2. Free version
Startrails may be used free of charge, privately and professionally. All Pro functions can be tried out; without a license, results created with Pro functions are saved with a watermark, and some functions (e.g. the layer export) are only available with a license.

3. Startrails Pro
With the purchase you receive a simple, perpetual right to use Startrails Pro yourself. You may enter the license key on all of your own PCs; there is no fixed limit. The key contains your name and e-mail address and is for you only: it must not be passed on, published or sold. If the purchase is refunded or the payment is charged back, the license ends; Startrails then switches Pro off at the next check.

4. Updates
Updates are free for everyone, including Startrails Pro. There is no entitlement to future updates or specific new features; updates required by law remain unaffected.

5. Your images and videos
The images and videos you create with Startrails belong to you. Startrails does not modify or transmit your original exposures.

6. Not permitted
The software must not be modified, reverse engineered (unless expressly permitted by law) or changed in a way that bypasses the watermark or the license check. The installer must not be passed on for a fee.

7. Warranty and liability
The statutory warranty rights apply to Startrails Pro. I am liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. In case of slight negligence I am only liable for the breach of essential obligations, limited to the foreseeable, typical damage. For the free version I am only liable for intent and gross negligence. Please keep backups of your original exposures as usual.

8. Final provisions
German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. For questions about the license or a lost key, simply write to info@startrails.de.
